Famous nine-arch bridge in village Hortobágy is the longest stone bridge in Hungary. It is build over the swampy river Hortobágy and it is 170 meters long.
Hortobágy National Park Visitor Centre hides information materials about national park, short exhibition about the life at pusta, lecture rooms and souvenir shop.
Common Crane (Grus grus) – the main aim of our voyage – is also in the logo of national park.

On Saturday morning there was a cattle fair near the Hortobágy village.

White donkeys – breed known from our southern neighbors.We mowed to the furthermost observation point at the Hortobágy Great Fishponds Halastó in a narrow gauge railway.

Fishponds are a perfect place for waterbird – from herons, geese and ducks to waders, birds of prey and song birds.
Numerous watchtowers and cottages are in national park Hortobágy a matter of course.
Scene from African savanna? No, water buffaloes are one of the animals bred at pusta for decades.
After a hard day we deserve proper lunch. And a traditional fishsoup halászlé simply has to be a part of it.
